A CVS Quickie

I perused bargainbriana.com, and becentsable.net for a few deals before I left for an errand.

Prilosec OTC (42 ct) - $24.99

Earn $7 Extra Bucks (Limit 2)
$7/2 from 11/28 P&G
Final Price $14.49 each

Tone Body Wash (18 oz) - $3.99

Earn $3 Extra Bucks (Limit 1)
$1/1 Tone Body Wash
Final Price FREE

Dawn Dish Soap $0.94
$0.25/1 coupon
Final Price:  $0.69

My retail total was $64.16. I paid $46.55.  That's a savings of only 27%.  I received $17 in ECB which made my final cost was $29.55 which makes it a 54% savings.  Not as great as usual, but a great deal on Prilosec.  I purchased TWO Prilosec and a few other items for just about the regular price of one Prilosec.  Basically, I got a box of Prilosec, body wash, and dish soap for free!

A deal that you can't get any longer

Last week for four days, CVS had an offering for a $15 coupon off of Shrek Forever After if you purchased $25 of certain products (I did batteries and toilet paper.)  The deal was you were suppose to get the DVD for only 4.99 when you turned it the coupon.

I did better than that!

The DVD was only 16.99 this week which made the price 1.99 after the CVS coupon, BUT I also found a $5/1 coupon for the movie on http://www.coupons.com/! Which made me some money!

I also purchased some hair clips and gum to make it all work out.

My retail price for all was $31.56.  My OOP was $0.56.  That means I saved 98%!

I was one of those funny times when I had to buy more to pay less.  With the DVD and hair clips, I was going to have to pay $1.98, but then I added two packs of gum and was able to use my ECB which brought me down to only paying $0.56.

Gotta love it!

Free Exedrin

I missed out on the previous opportunity to get free Excedrin, but not this time!  Just go to http://www.coupons.com/ .  When you get there, go to "health care" under coupons.  There are 3 different links to request a coupon by mail.  One is for a free Excedrin Extra Strength.  One if for a free Excedrin Migrain.  Third is for $3.50 off Excedrin PM. Unlike most coupons on Coupons.com, you can only request these once per each.

My husband gets a taste of couponing

I felt terrible yesterday.  Even missed church.  But I had $6 in Jingle Cash/Register Rewards that expired yesterday.  That was a lot to waste in my mind, so I asked Mike if he would pick something up and just use it for me.  Since it was only showing my card and handing over one piece of paper, he felt that it would be a stretch but he could handle it.  ;-)

Walgreens has a Sony DVD player for $29.99 so, that is what he decided to buy since we did need a new DVD player.

Here's the scoop.  The retail was $47.99.  My DH paid $23.99 OOP which is a 50% savings.  He then received $5 in "Super" Jingle Cash back which he thought was really cool which meant in the end, he paid $18.99 which is a savings of 60%.

Walgreens

I have a lot of RR/Jingle Cash that expires this coming Friday and Sunday, so I need to make sure not to waste it!  Of course, part of the challenge is getting points instead of RR.  I don't usually make the effort for points.

I actually made my list back on Sunday, but didn't get there until yesterday!

First, I checked out The Savings Lifestyle and then BeCentsAble.

$0.99 Stove Top Stuffing, 5 oz w/ Walgreen’s Weekly Ad Coupon ~ Limit 3

$0.50/1 Chex Mix

I ended up saving 98%.  I paid $0.40 for $23.62 worth of items.

CVS with no ECB

No ECB.  But we'll see what we can find to get the ball rolling again.

The Savings Lifestyle was my source.

$3.33 Coke 12 oz Cans, 12 pack
$3 ECB WYB (3) ~ Limit 1
Net Price $2.33 each after ECBs when you buy 3!

$0.99 Gain Dish Liquid, 11 oz
$0.50/1 Gain Dish Liquid 11/28/2010 P&G Insert (exp 12/31/2010)
Net Price $0.49 each

$3.99 Bounce Dryer Bar, 1 ct
$1/1 Bounce Dryer Bar 11/28/2010 P&G Insert (exp 12/31/2010)
Net Price $2.99 each (Not necessarily an outstanding deal, but I've been wanting to try it, so good enough.)

I also decided to go for the Shrek DVD for only 4.99 which mean I purchased some things without coupons.  One of the deals I bought two of was a set of 27 batteries of different sizes in a storage case for only $10!!.

My savings was only 25%.  I did make $3 in ECB which brings my savings to 30%.  I also received my coupon for $15 off the new Shrek Forever DVD.  I'm not quite sure how to count that!

One really great thing came out of my visit to CVS last night.  I found out my corner CVS also takes expired ECB!!!   That's right, no more throwing money away!
