That's what I'm talking about

More or less that is!
Walgreen trip. Retail was 40.62. After sales, coupons, and Register Rewards, my toal was 16.89 which is a savings of 58%. But then they gave me $22 back in RR which means they paid me $5.11 to take $40.62 out of their store.

So here are my deals....
  • Hershey's Candy Bars $0.49 (with insert coupon) Use $0.55 coupon from 8/23 SS Final Price: FREE plus overage
  • Select Vicks products (It's coming into cold and flu season after all.) 2/$10 Receive $5 RR on two Use $1 coupon from 9/27 PG Final Price: 2/$3

Price Chopper 9/26

I went to Price Chopper late on Saturday evening because I knew I wouldn't be allowed to shop on my birthday! I did an average job at Price Chopper, but there were a few excellent deals I got.

My retail total was 58.26 and after sales and coupons, my total was 39.41 which was a 32% savings. Again, not as good as Walgreens, but not bad.

But here are some of my deals that I scored because I had asked for free samples, signed up for Vocalpoint, or sent in for a rebate of coupons.

  • Honey Nut Cheerios was on sale for 1.49. I had a coupon for $1/1 from a sample making it only .49.
  • Kashi Sunshine cereal was not on sale. It is priced at 4.99, but I had received a sample and a coupon for one for free, so it was FREE.
  • I got 2 gallons of milk for only .89 a gallon. The coupons I had received from a rebate was $2 off a gallon of milk when I purchased 2-100 Calorie Nabisco treats which I was planning on doing anyway.

Ok, just had to prove my point about getting samples and signing up for Vocalpoint.com!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

I know I've probably mentioned before about the benefit of signing up at restaurant sites, but your birthday is when you really notice the benefits.

On Wednesday, Mike & I at at Red Robin for free. I'm sitting here with a coupon for a free meal at Ryan's or Hometown buffet, a free regular creamslush from Sonic, a B1G1 Orange Julius, a free blizzard from Dairy Queen, a free dessert from Frazzoli's, Denny's free dessert with purchase of an entree, a free swirl shake with a roastburger purchase from Arbys and a free meal at BD's Mongolian BBQ.

Will I get them all? Probably not. I need all them like a need a whole in the head! I will probably try to score the free meals at least.

Walgreens run this week

Finally, I got to make a Walgreens run in I don't know how long! It's been long enough, however, that I had no Register Rewards to use. I did well enough without them, though, that the lady behind me was impressed and wanted more information.

Ok, retail was 58.64. After coupons and sales, the amount was 22.35 was a 62% savings. What got the lady though, was when I received $10 in RR making my final total 12.35 which was a final savings of 79%.

I perused bargainbriana.com, becentsable.net, and couponmom.com to get the best deals. It really is interesting how one can find a deal on one item while the other finds a different deal on another product.

Here's my best deals:
  • Oral B Indicator Toothbrush 2/$4. B1G1 coupon from 8/23 SS plus $2 in RR makes it FREE.
  • Thermacare Heat Wrap 2.49 and receive 2.49 in RR making it FREE. Then Use $1 printable coupon HERE and they pay you $1 for it.
  • Aquafresh Iso-Active Toothpaste 3.49. Use $1/1 from 9/20 RP or printable and receive $1.50 in RR making the final price .99.
  • Bic Women's Soleil razors are 4.99. Receive $1 in RR and $3/1 coupon form 9/20 SS making the final price .99.
  • Cambells cooking soups (cream of mushroom and cream of chicken) are .89 each with a coupon from the sales ad. Use $1/2 printable coupon Hhere (IE) or here (FF) and it makes the final price .39 each.
  • Aussie Hair Care 2.99. Receive $2 in RR with the purchase of one. Purchase 2 using the $2/2 coupon from 9/13 RP and you get 2 bottles for $2 or $1 each.
  • Glade 4 oz. candles 2/$5 and get $1 RR making it 2/$4. Use the $3/2 from 8/9 SS making the final price 2 for $1 or .50 each candle.

Well, I purchased a few more things but the items listed above were probably my best deals. I need to work on a Price Chopper list now. Yes, my boycott of CVS is still on which, of course, hurts them tremendously since they usually pay me to take things of their store. ;-)

Free tokens

Chuckie Cheese want's your children! :-)
They offered a summer reading program; how they are offering a "Let's Get Dressed" calendar rewarding children who get up and get dressed for 2 weeks. I don't know about you, but I know Micki will wake up everyday and eventually get into some clothes. ;-) They get 10 tokens for the sheet and a pizza purchase is required. I know, it's not a pretty link, but it works.

Vocalpoint

There are many sites that give out samples, but one of the best ones I've joined is Vocalpoint. Vocalpoint is affiliated with Proctor and Gamble. The site has helpful ideas, surveys, and samples. Sometimes you have to request them and sometimes I just get them in the mail. Also, they sometimes sent coupons alone or in addition to the sample. What's really cool about the coupons is that often, one coupon is for a free item and the others (meant to share with others or hoard for yourself) are usually for a "nice" amount liked $1/1.

So go to www.vocalpoint.com to sign up!

Free Groceries for a Year!

Ronzoni Pasta is running a sweepstakes. There will be 8 winners of free groceries for a year ($5200 value) and I can't remember how many other winners of a one time shopping spree of $200.

After you sign up, you can also get coupons.

Price Chopper

Finally, hopefully, getting back to my couponing. The start of school and CVS boycott kind of through me for a loop for a bit.

Did pretty well at Price Chopper this week. To check out the deals I chose from go to www.littlepeoplewealth.com and www.kcpennypinchinmama.com.

I purchased $85.35 worth of groceries for 36.57 which is a savings of 57%. That means that I paid .43 for every $1.

Saving money on college text books

For those who may not know, my husband is in college. Well, hopefully, he'll be finished after this semester, so we won't have too much longer to use this wonderful idea, so I thought I'd pass it on. I actually got the idea from a homeschool group.

Mike almost didn't make it to classes this semester because we literally had no money for his textbooks. It was disheartening since it was the last semester, but you know most of those textbooks easily run $50-100 each!

He was able to do classes after all thanks to the public library. All of his books were available through inter-library loans. Some were an edition or two off, but that's not usually a major deal.

Who would have thought about getting your textbooks for free from the library!! Well, obviously someone did!
