I paid $1.08 OOP for $16.56 in items which is a savings of 92%. I actually earned $3 in RR. $1 was for using my green bag tag. $2 was just because it's my birthday month. I don't care how I earn them; they all spend the same!!! That means I made a $1.92 profit which is a savings of 112%.

Only Walgreens this week.

There just wasn't much that impressed me with CVS this week, so I'm only going to do Walgreens.  Last week, if you remember, I made 3 different transactions which saved my OOP but left me with no RR to start this week.

BTW, have I mentioned how much I DON'T LIKE the Wags points program.  (Walgreen Rewards (points) are only being tried out in certain areas.) I'd save so much more money without points.  At CVS, you score points and earn ECB.  At Wags, it either points or RR, and the good deals end up being points!  It takes 2000 points to earn a $5 gift certificate.  I probably would have earned about $100 in RR for the same deals that earned me 2000 points.  I'm not exagerating.  :-(

Had fun this week taking my mom with me to CVS.  In fact, with my help, she ended up getting $10 worth of stuff for FREE!!  She loved the feeling of walking out literally paying nothing!

First, I purchased the RePhresh and Bandaids. Retail was $11.18, and I paid $8.28. Not pretty, but I earned $7.69. That made my final price $0.59. Final savings is 95%. Not too bad concerning I didn't use my ECB on this one.

But, that gave me the $7.69 ECB from that transaction and the $6.59 I had originally.

So, then I purchased the Prilosec and Zyrtec. My retail total was $34.98. I paid $9.71 after coupons and the $14.28 in ECB. That alone is a savings of 72%. I received $5 in ECB making my final cost $4.71. Final savings 87%.

Think about it. For only $5.30, I purchased a 42-count of Prilosec, 5-count of Zyrtec, 18-count RepHresh Tampons, and a box of Hello Kitty Bandaids!

CVS, finally

In case you missed my previous post, couponing has come to a slight stand still as we reorganize our life around my husband's unemployment and my newly diagnosed diabetes.

Anniversary trip to CVS

My wonderful husband made arrangements for our daughter to visit her cousins for a few days which allowed us a couple of evenings to celebrate our 22nd anniversary and allowed me to have a day all by myself!  I hibernated yesterday reading and watching stupid "reality" shows that I don't usually get to watch.

Last night was our "official" celebration.  It usually includes dinner and a movie.  Since there was no movie that really was to our liking, we did the frugal thing and rented a few videos.   Blockbuster had a code for rent 2 get 1 free. (The code expires tonight at midnight or I'd share it!) It was really cool, because we just picked out what we wanted and paid for it here at home on the computer and picked it up at the kiosk.

After our yummy dinner with plenty to bring home for a second meal, we stopped by CVS to stock up on some munchies for our videos. 

We've been drinking more tea to save money on pop (or soda depending on where you live).  However, the Pepsi products were already marked on sale, so we decided to stock up.  The deal was purchase 6 for $20 and get $10 in ECB.

So, here's what how it all ended.  The retail total was $38.63.  We paid $4.63 which is a savings of 88%.  I received $10 in ECB which means CVS paid me $5.37 for shopping there!
