Apple Market vs. Aldi's

I figured out what I was going to purchase myself.  I couldn't get any great deals with coupons, but I still got good deals.

Best Choice Chili beans $0.39
(Aldi's is $0.55 the last I checked.)

Best Choice Sugar $1.69
(Aldi's is $2.39.)

Pilgrim's Boneless Skinless Chicken $1.99/lb.
(Same brand on sale at Price Chopper for $2.49 which is about the same at Aldi's)

I would have paid $25.07 at Aldi's and not been able to use coupons, so even paying $19.41 without coupons is a savings.  I ended up saving 23% over Aldi's.

Kmart and Apple Market

Here's my confession.  After my husband got paid on Friday, I went out that evening to Kmart to purchase Easter "stuff."   I just wanted to make sure we got our stuff before the money ran out!

Well, to my shame, I did not shop sales or have coupons.  I know!  Crazy!

But God redeemed my hastiness.  You see, two things that I purchased went on sale yesterday.  Did I pout and fret?  No.  I merely took my receipt into Kmart and they gave me back the difference which was $10!

Now, getting $10 back would have been a good enough deal, but I wanted chicken.

You see, Apple Market had some chicken.  It was on sale for $0.89 a pound.  I had two coupons for $1 a package of the Pilgrim Brand chicken that was on sale.  Sounds easy enough.  The problem is the Apple Market by us STILL DOESN'T TAKE INTERNET COUPONS!!!!!!  (Can you tell I'm a little frustrated?  I'm like "Wake up and join the 21st century already!)

So, on the way home from Kmart we stopped at another Apple Market.  I pickup two packages totalling 6 pounds for $5.34.  After my $2 off in coupons, my total became $3.34 which is $0.56 a pound.  That's a savings of 37% off the sale price.  I'm not sure how much the chicken regularly goes for, but I think I did a good job.

Apple Market 10/16

Made a running glance through my Apple Market add early this morning.  I knew I would be going to a meeting that would bring me back by the Apple Market that takes printed coupons, so I didn't want to waste  the opportunity.  There were many more things that were available, but these were the only two things I found that I wanted.

Old Orchard Apple Juice $0.99
$0.50/1 printable coupon here
Final Price: $0.49 each

General Mills/Maxwell House International Coffee 2/$5
$1/1 coupon 9/26 SS
$0.75/1 coupon 10/10 SS
Final Price: $1.63 each

My retail was $6.98.  Well, I say retail but it was actually the sale price.  After using coupons, I paid $4.23 which is a 40% savings off the sale price.  I really need to remember to right down what the original price on things are at Apple Market, so my numbers look better!

Apple Market

Doing Apple Market on my own again this week.  After wasting a lot of time, the only two deals I'm pursuing are from their in-ad coupons.

Kraft Cheese $1.99
$1/1 in ad coupon
Final price: $0.99

Taco Bell Shells 2/$3
$2/2 in ad coupon
Final Price: $1/2 or $0.50 each

Once I got there, I knew I was also going to pick up some salad for dinner tonight.  Thankfully, I looked for Dole coupons which are often available at the bagged salad.

Dole Classic Salad 5/$5 or $1 each
$1/1 from display
Final Price: FREE

Now, again, Apple Market doesn't provide savings, so I don't know how much I saved from retail.  My total would have been $6.99.  I paid $1.99 for a savings of 72% savings.

Apple Market

Obviously, since I used internet coupons, I chose to go to my old Apple Market instead of my new one.  I went on the way home from ballet.  I figured even if I spend $2.50 in gas to get there, I'm still ahead when I had $5 in coupons.

Here's the deals I found for myself:

Pillsbury Brownie Mix 10/$10 or $1/1
$1/2 from 8/27 RP
Final Price $0.50 each

Bar S Lunch meat or Jumbo franks 10/$10
$1/2 coupon here
Final Price: $0.50 each

Tony's Pouches, Pizza for One, or Cripsy Crust 10/$10
$1/2 coupon here
Final Price: $0.50 each

Campbell's Spagettio's 2/$1
$0.50/2 coupon here
Final Price: $0.25 each

It's hard to come up with the actual retail because it doesn't state orignal price.  My total sale price was $10.  After $5 in coupons, I paid $5 which is a savings of 50% which means my savings is actually higher when you consider the original prices!  That's not bad in my opinion.

Apple Market

Well, apparently the person who used to do Apple Market matches no longer does them.  Also, the Apple Market by my new place doesn't accept  internet coupons.  With all that in mind, here are the deals I found for myself.

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese (including Homestyle) 2/$4
$1/1 Kraft Homestyle Mac & Cheese  8/8 SS
Final Price: $1/1

 Era Laundry Detergent $2.99
$1/1 Era  8/22 SS
Final Price: $1.99

I'm not sure how much the normal retail price would be, but just using the two coupons on the sales price saved me 40%.

Apple Market

Well, the Apple Market closest to my new place still does double coupon up to $0.49, BUT they don't accept internet coupons!  Can you believe it?

But I'm going tomorrow to get a few things that I saw.

These two items I'm getting because they are cheaper than at Aldi's:
Best Choice Sugar  $1.49  (Aldi $2.39, savings of 38%)
Best Choice Spaghetti Sauce $0.79 (Aldi $1.19, savings of 34%)

The one coupon deal not using internet coupons is:
Right Guard $0.99
Coupon for $1.50/2 from 8/15RP
Final price: $0.24 each.

That's about all I'm getting there tomorrow.

Open your eyes and you might win a prize!

Ran to Apple Market yesterday to pick up a few things.  I had seen the Dole Salad Mixes were on sale for 2 for $4.  That's not the best sale since Aldis is cheaper, but it's OK in a pinch.  When I got there I happened to look up and saw Dole coupon/recipe booklets.  The coupons were for $1/1, so I ended up with the salad being $1 each!

Apple Market

Did Apple Market today.  I got most of my deals from The Grocery Weekly but there were a few I found myself.  The Grocery Weekly is focused in KS, so I think there are some differences between the two.

My retail total was $34.40.  I actually took the time to find the retail prices of each of the items I purchased, so I got the actually price before sales this time.  After sales and coupons, I paid $15.62 which is a savings of 55%.  So, I basically paid half price for these groceries.  I can deal with that.

Betty Crocker Potatoes
Use .40/1 here
Final Price=.20/1

Hunt's Ketchup
$1/2 from April All You
Final Price=.50/1 (save for ConAgra rebate)

Apple Market Cha Ching!

Made a run to Apple Market today.  I had to get it done today because some of the coupons I had expire today.  I had picked those coupons up from a tear pad at the store a few months ago.  I made an awesome deal with these plus a few other things.

Kraft Dressing on sale 2/$4 or $2 each.  Coupons from a tearpad for $1.50 makes them $0.50 each!
Wholly Guacomole for 1.99.  Coupon for $1/1 from 3/28 SS makes it $0.99.
Snuggle fabric softner for 3.99.  Coupon $3/1 from 3/28 RP makes it $0.99.

Again, Apple Market's receipt doesn't help me know what my original retail was, but my total from the sale was 17.98.  After $13 in coupons, my OOP was 4.98.  That's a savings of 72%!  Not bad for a regular grocery store run.

Apple Market

I'm liking my little Apple Market that's nearby.  I don't get a lot there, but I can usually find a few good deals.  Here were my deals last night.

Hamburger Helper 10/$10 or basically $1 each (which, BTW, is the going price at Aldis).   Coupons in 2/7 and 3/7 SS for .75/3 makes them $0.75 each  AND I also had received a coupon through snail mail from Box Tops for Education for $1/3 making those three boxes $0.67 each.

Dawn was on sale for $0.99.  I had a coupon from P&G 3/7 for $0.25/1 which is doubled at Apple Market making the Dawn only $0.49

KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce was $1.  SS 3/14 had a coupon for $1/1 making it FREE!!

I mentioned last time that I can't find my full savings at Apple Market because I can't tell my original retail prices, but after coupons were applied to the sale price by savings was 33%.  So, I only paid 2/3 of what others did on just the sales alone.

Apple Market Deals

I made a run to Apple Market today for a change.  I wanted to try them out especially since they offer double coupons.  The biggest challenge just for my couponing is that the receipt only showed my savings from coupons and not from sales, so finding my percentages is and endeavor I don't really want to attempt.  However, below are some of my "deals".
Michelina's frozen meals 10/$10
http://www.michelinas.com/SaveMoney.aspx for a coupon for $1/5
Michelina Meal is 1/ $0.80

Betty Crocker Potatoes 10/$1 or $1.00 each
Betty Crocker Potatoes is for $0.40/1
Apple Market doubles coupon under $0.49 so my coupons became worth $0.80!
Betty Crocker Potatoes then became $0.20 each (plus I only picked the boxes that had coupons on the back).

Musselman's Apple Sauce 10/$10
Musselman's apple sauce $1/2 from a previous package
Final price was $0.50 each

Yoplait 10 for $4
$1/10 coupon from General Mills insert 2/7
Yoplaits at $0.30 each

Tony's Pizza 5/$10
Coupons found at store $1/2
Each pizza $1.50
