The Proverbs 31 woman is a challenge to all of us. This blog is an attempt to apply "She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar" (ESV) in my everyday life through couponing and money-savings tips. Here I share what I do and learn.

Advice & CVS/Walgreens
Still recovering, but I had to get tonight since some of my coupons expired today.
Walgreens (after corrected receipt) total was 39.73 and after sales and coupons my total was 5.93. I received $3 in RR making my final total 2.93 which is a savings of 93%.
At CVS my initial total was 39.31 and after coupons, sales and ECBs my total was 7.66. I received $4 in ECB which made my savings 91%.

Catching up...sort of and a cool deal
Ok, one thing that I'm doing right now, is sorting through my coupons and pitching expired and pulling those expiring 6/30. I'll probably run to Walmart next week and see if I can make any decent deals by using them. Waste not want not.
Here's a cool deal. You can receive a free quart of Glidden Paint in any color of your choice. Go to https://www.glidden.com/promotions/free-paint-giveaway.do and pick out your color, fill out your form and tada! a quart of paint in 3-4 weeks. I selected a color that I'm thinking about doing my living room in so that way I can try it before I buy it!

Price Chopper
- Kraft Miracle Whip 1.99. I had $1/1 from 6/14 SS making the final price .99. Some of the Miracle Whip in my PC had peelie coupons attached for $1/2 which would make the final price 1.49 each.
- Speaking of peelies. Kraft Pasta Salads are 10/$10 or basically $1 each. Some of them in my store had peelies attached for $1/2 making them actually .50 each.
- Juicy Juice 6 pks were on sale for 2/$4. I had a $1/2 coupon from All You magazine.
- Kashi Waffles were not on sale but were 2.99 a box. Had printable coupons for $1.50/1 from http://site.vocalpoint.com/kashiconnect/coupon.html making them 1.49 each which was cheaper than Best Choice and better for you.

My "System"
I have this box. It's just a little bigger than a shoe box. I like the fact that lid locks down which prevents coupons spilling out. It's also a very handy box to take into stores with me like when Kmart had double coupons. I also keep my scissors in it, so they are handy. (BTW, don't forget that cutting coupons is handy practice for your preschoolers!)
Yes, I do cut my coupons now, because I find they take up less space that way. I still separate my coupons by insert and then also have an alphabetical section and a few other envelopes.
OK, so if you look at the envelopes you would see for instance on labeled SS 4/19, so in that envelope, I have the coupons from the Smart Source insert from 4/19. I have one envelope for each insert for every week.
Next, I have envelopes labeled alphabetically which means in the D envelope I have coupons I printed or got somewhere else like coupons for Dial, Dove, etc.
Other envelopes I have in my box include:
- An All You envelope that has the coupons from All You magazine after I've read it. Takes less space then trying to store multiple magazines.
- Envelopes for CVS & Wags in which I keep my RR & ECB and anything else special for that store.
- An Aldi's envelope. I keep my receipts and notes about various prices there so I can check if I'm really getting a good deal.
- A Rebate envelope for things I'm saving for rebates. Duh.
- A Dining & Entertaining. Coupons to restaurants and such. The challenge here is to look at it before you leave! How many times to I get frustrated knowing I have a coupon for the restaurant at which we're eating at home!
Well, I hope that gives you some ideas. One thing I've learned is not everything works for everyone. This is my second organizing system since I started in March.

Free Chick-fil-A Combo on July 10
Come to any Chick-fil-A® restaurant on July 10
dressed as a cow and receive a FREE combo meal.
A: For one day only, black and white spots, cow bells and furry ears will be appropriate attire in the nation’s second largest chicken chain. In celebration of July 10, Cow Appreciation Day (an unofficial yet nationally recognized holiday), Chick-fil-A will award a free combo meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) to any customer who comes to one of the chain’s 1,300-plus restaurants fully dressed as a cow.
Q: What does “fully dressed as a cow” mean?
A: “Fully dressed as a cow” means an effort to be dressed like a cow from head to toe. For customers who want to join us in partial cow attire (such as the cow headband, a cow-printed hat, vest or purse) a free entrée will be given.
Costume Tips:
1. Start with items that you already have at home–cow-printed accessories stashed in your closet will work perfectly. Hats, vests, scarves, neckties, pants, shoes, pajamas–just about any cow-spotted item will work. Just make sure you’re covered head to toe.
2. Wear white and then just add cow spots. Throw on a white T-shirt with white pants (even sweatpants) and stick on your cow spots using black contact paper. Cut spots out of construction paper and tape them to your shirt and pants. If nothing else, you can grab an old white T-shirt and color black cow spots all over it with a magic marker, and you’ll still get a free entrée.
3. Go to your local paint or hardware store and get a white painter’s hat and overalls. Then decorate yourself with cow spots made out of contact or construction paper.
4. If you’re not feeling too creative and want an easy costume, search the Internet for “cow costumes,” and you will be flooded with full-body costumes available for purchase. Feel free to use the cow items provided here.
No coupon is needed but you may want to check with your local store before heading out to make sure they are participating.
Here's what they are offering:

This week at CVS & Walgreens
At CVS, my original total was 53.92. I spent 9.59 which was an 82% savings. They gave me $11 in ECB which means they ended up paying me 1.41 to take 53.92 worth of items.
OK, so Rachel commented that she missed the details, so I'll include them this time. The squeaky wheel and all... :-)
- Schick Quatro Titanium Razor 7.99 with $3 in ECB makes it 4.99. Use $4/1 coupon from 6/14 SS and you have it for .99.
- Select varieties of Kellogg's Cereals 1.88 each. I used 2-$1.50/1 coupons from 6/7 RP making them .38 each. (Now, to be honest, these were all the sugary cereals, so I won't keep them for my family but pass them on to one of the ministries my new church does.
- Crest Pro-Health toothpaste was 2.99 with $2 in ECB making it .99. I had a $1/1 coupon I had received through the mail meaning that I made a whole penny! If you use the .50/1 coupon from 6/7 P&G, it makes it .49 which is still a good deal.
- Purex Complete 3 in 1 are 6.99 with $2 in ECB making it 4.99. Using the $2/1 coupons from today's SS makes them 2.99 each. We've tried these and have liked them.
Ok, on to Walgreens. I've read several of the coupons queens who mention to figure out which cashier seems to be the most friendly. On Sunday evening, there's one gentleman that is very nice, but insists that I can only use 1 RR even though even his manager has taken multiple from me. BUT, I got there early in the evening and the nice girl in cosmetics is always willing to take any RR I have!
Unfortunately, I didn't do as well as as usual...only 75% savings after coupons, RR and receiving $15 back in I paid 12.77 for 51.96 worth of items.
- St. Ives Body Wash is 2.99 and ends up free after getting 2.99 RR.
- Ragu spaghetti sauce was on sale 2/$4. If you purchased 8 of the selected items you got $8 in RR back. So, I purchased 8 Ragu for $16. I used 2 coupons for .75/2. I think I got it from 5/7 RP. So, that means $16 in Ragu sauce, after RR & coupons was 6.50 or .81 each.
- Hefty One Zip bags are B1G1 @ 3.29. Use (2) $1/1 from 5-17 RP making it 2 boxes for 65 cents each.
Well, there's all the details!
Wanna eat cake?

Second CVS visit & a quick Price Chopper
Well, I actually got them for free in the long run. I purchased 51.38 in retail and my OOP was 8.14 which is an 84% savings. I received $9 in ECB, so in the end they paid me .86 which is more than 100% savings.
Had to run to Price Chopper to pick up a prescription. Thankfully, kcpennypinchinmama.com already had the Price Chopper match-ups online, so I was able to get a few things while I was there. The retail was 23.62 and after coupons and sales, I paid 12.96 which was only a 45% savings. Still, I paid almost half of what another person would have paid.
One deal that I found that KC Penny Pinchin Mama didn't have was the Ronzoni Bistro meals at 2/$4. In 5/10 Smartsource, there was a coupon for $1/1, so with 2 coupons, I got them for 2/$2. Ronzoni Bistro Meals are like a fancy Spaghetti-O's. They work well for an occasional lunch for Mike.

Kmart Double Coupons
I highly recommend picking out a bunch of different potential coupons initially and then check you coupon stash. Also, other sites may give you ideas, but your price for the items may be different making it not such a great deal.
The first trip was 17.75 in retail and I paid .38 making it a 98% savings. It made me feel good to be able to lick my wounds from my savings at Wags and CVS last night!
I actually spent 1 1/2 hours at Kmart during my second run just trying to find some deals. Now, I'll admit that there were many things that I could have gotten for fairly good prices like 1.00 or 1.50, but I felt that wasn't good enough. My retail price was 36.97 and I paid 5.84 which is an 84% savings.
So between the 2 runs, I had a savings of 89%.
I might actually take a look at the Kmart sales ad and see if there was anything they have on sale that I missed otherwise, I probably won't go back unless I go to the other Kmart in town to see if they are stocked better on items.
Usual Wags & CVS
At CVS, I purchased 85.43 worth of merchandise for 38.16. Then they gave me $19 in ECB making my final total 19.16 which is a savings of 78%.
At Wags I purchased 27.46 worth of items for 11.76. I received $5 in RR making my final price 6.76 which is a savings of 75%.
Mike thinks it's sad that I feel like I failed when I only save 75%!
I will be going back to to CVS to get some diapers to send to Mike's niece in Louisianna who just had a baby. This deal was only mentioned online not in the sales insert. Pampers are on sale for 8.99 and you get $5 in ECB. Final price 3.99 for the diapers. But if you use the $1/1 coupon in the P&G insert from this Sunday 5/7, the final price is 2.99! Not a bad deal at all. Oh, and of course, I'm goiong to use the $19 in ECB that I earned yesterday to pay for them making them FREE!!! I can't wait!

Some Updates
We've been very busy it seems and I'm not sure it's going to end anytime soon. I'm going to try to get this blog updated, but I may try to save time by not listing the exact deals I used. Just remember that most of my CVS and Wags deals I find on www.bargainbriana.com or www.becentsable.net. My Price Chopper deals I usually find on www.littlepeoplewealth.com or www.kcpennypinchinmama.com.
Went to Price Chopper this week and saved within my usual range of savings percentage for a grocery store. The items I found were 18.55 and after coupons and sales, the total was 7.96 which is a 57% savings. If you have kids, make sure to sign up for the kidsclub online. In May, Micki got a free 1/2 pt of chocolate milk. Last month, she got a 6 pack of orange soda.
CVS didn't really have much to offer me, but I did buy B1G1 coffee and a brace for my foot which has been bothering me. The total was 19.07 and after sales, coupon and ECBs, I paid .18. That's actually more than 99 1/2% savings. Didn't get any ECBs back though. :-(
Walgreens total was 40.92. After sales, coupons, and RRs, I paid .97 which is 97% savings. They gave me $3 in RR back which means they paid me 2.03 to take $40 of products out of their store.
